GAVIN GARCIA

From my time playing in the NFL, we referred to guys like Gavin as “Pros.” He is a “Pro” because he has the right attitude, shows great effort, and does the extra work. I know Gavin puts in the extra work because he does O Line drills with my brother, who is an offensive line coach at Desoto High School, on Saturday mornings in the offseason. I know there are not many high schoolers willing to give up their Saturday mornings to do pass sets, cone drills, and pulling drills, but Gavin does. Also, my brother speaks very highly of his athleticism, feet, bend, and work ethic.


Gavin is a student and a constant learner because he asks great questions. He’s the type of guy you love to coach because he is engaged, and the details are essential to him. Multiple times, him in school clothes and me in work clothes would be up talking and walking through pass sets based on D lineman alignment and first steps on the front side of inside zone. These are important details great lineman think about every snap, and Gavin strives to get better at these details.

Gavin will be a great player, leader, and “Pro” at the college level because it is as simple as he does things right.
